Automatic Child Support Review

If your ex is receiving public assistance, your case will be automatically reviewed every three years. You do not need to request the review and neither does your ex. The Child Support Enforcement Agency will automatically initiate the process once the 3 year period has expired. If you are nearing an automatic review, you can begin to implement some of the strategies for lowering your income and protecting your assets previously covered in this book. Make sure you go to the review prepared and provide all the necessary documentation. Even if your child support order is not reduced, you can play an active role in preventing it from being increased during the automatic review process.
